Hello My Name Is...

ANNE KELLY

WELCOME TO A NEW SCHOOL YEAR!

We, the 7th grade students of Trinity Regional School, will strive during this school year-
to learn more about our religion in preparation to receive Confirmation
to have as much faith in God as we can so we can one day be with Him
to be more reverent, respectful, and prayerful during Mass and throughout the day
to be kinder, more polite, generous, and courteous to each other
to be more aware of the needs of God's creations by taking care of them and accepting and respectful of all life.

THE 2017-2018 ACADEMIC SCHOOL YEAR  BEGINS MY 17TH YEAR TEACHING AT TRINITY REGIONAL SCHOOL.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the College of New Rochelle, I taught at Our Lady of Victory Academy, an all girls high school in Dobbs Ferry, New York.
Both of my children are graduates of Trinity Regional School.
This year the 8th graders will continue to study the Living Environment course and take the New York State Regents.  They will enter high school with regents credit for this science course.
The 7th graders will have an all inclusive course in Chemistry.  This will give them a strong foundation in the science which they will most likely take in high school.

We have made a change to the Science Fair project for 7th grade.  It will following the engineering process and be a project based on STREAM, where the 'R' standings for reading.
The students are to choose a science statement from a book that they have read of a movie
they have seen.  Along with a partner they are to test the validity of this statement using
the engineering process.
The students have received a syllabus.  On this syllabus is an explanation of the
STREAM project, due dates and a template that needs to be completed.
I hope this breaths new life into the science fair projects and that the students enjoy exploring a topic with a partner.
