TRINITY REGIONAL SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

Trinity Regional School offers a variety of activities which enrich the curriculum and expand opportunities for our students.  Most of these activities occur during lunch/recess and are moderated by faculty members.  There is no charge for many of these activities.

Lunch/Recess Activity Schedule :

Monday  -   Newspaper and Junior Chorus (4 & 5)

Tuesday  -    Senior Chorus (6, 7, 8)

                         -    Math Club (4,5,6)

Wednesday

1st week  - TLC - Trinity Leadership Corps, Environmental Club

2nd week - Chess Club (November to March)

3rd week - Environmental Club

4th week -    Chess Club  (November to March); Great Trials Club

Every week - Art Portfolio Program

Thursday  -  Junior Cantors

Friday    -  Senior Chorus (6,7,8)

BAND

Trinity Regional School's Band Program meets every Monday after school in the gym. Students in grades 3 through 8 participate in the Band.  Our Band Program is conducted by the Paul Effman Music Service.  A separate fee is required for participation in program and rental of instruments.

ATHLETICS

Trinity Regional School is a member of the Catholic Middle School Athletic Association (CMSAA).  The CMSAA is an organization of 17 Parish and Regional Schools in Suffolk County.  Its goal is to provide Middle School (grades 6, 7 and 8) students with an opportunity to compete on a team with their classmates.  This league holds its practices and games on school days between 3 PM and 6 PM.  Participation does not conflict with CYO eligibility.

Parents serve as coaches and managers. The values of team work, collaboration, sportsman-like attitude and healthy competition are emphasized.  A separate fee is required for participation in this program.  Tuition assistance is available.

Trinity Regional School competes in a variety of sports throughout the year:

Fall :        Boys' and Girls' Soccer and Cross Country

Winter: Boys' and Girls' Basketball

Spring: Boys' Baseball and Girls' Softball

SCHOOL PLAY

A major highlight of each school year is the school play.  This is a theatrical production of a well-known musical.  Participation in the school play is open to all 6th, 7th and 8th graders.  All students wishing to participate are included in this endeavor.  Students participate as actors, stage crew, lighting, sound and technical crew.  Faculty and staff produce, direct and choreograph the play.  Parents create sets, props, costumes and drive to rehearsals in Huntington. The Auditorium at St. Hugh of Lincoln Parish in Huntington is the setting for the production.  A separate fee is required for participation in the school play.

Calendar:   A calendar is sent home at the beginning of each month listing rehearsal dates .

November :    Announcement of Play and Parent Meetings

December :    Auditions

January: Rehearsals begin.  These rehearsals are

held in East Northport.  Pick-up is at 3:45 PM.

February :       Rehearsals are held in East Northport until the

February break.  Pick-up is at 3:45 PM.

Rehearsals are held in Huntington after the

February break.  Pick-up is at 4:45 PM.

March:

        Rehearsals are held in Huntington.  Pick-up is at 4:45 PM.

Performances :   Friday and Saturday -  March 24 and 25, 2017 at 8 PM

                             Sunday - March 26, 2017 at 2 PM
