2nd Grade

Welcome to 2nd Grade!

Mrs. Coletti teaches second grade at Trinity. This is her 22nd year here at Trinity. She has had the pleasure of teaching a few different grade levels. Mrs. Coletti graduated from Alfred University with a BA in Elementary Education and Dowling College with a Masters degree in Literacy. She holds NYS permanent certification in Elementary Education Pre-K to 6 and in Reading K to 12.

Mrs. Giovelli is a second grade teacher here at Trinity.  She has been teaching early childhood as well as elementary education for 13 years.   This is her seventh year at Trinity.  Over the years here she has taught Nursery, Pre-K, and AIS for first to fourth grades, Kindergarten and now Second grade. Mrs. Giovelli has a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood as well as Elementary Education, and a Master’s Degree in Literacy.  Her teaching certifications are Elementary Education, birth - through sixth grade and Literacy, birth-through sixth grade.  

In second grade the children will be building upon previously learned skills and concepts while mastering new ones. Some topics we will be learning about in Math are place value, 2 and 3 digit addition and subtraction, money, time and fractions.  In Reading we will continue to work on becoming great readers and work on our phonics and grammar skills.  We also will learn how to write in script.  The students will become great Scientist as they learn about animals, plants, weather and the solar system.  Learning about our country, reading a map and our communities will be our focus in Social Studies. In Religion the children will be preparing for the reception of two sacraments, Reconciliation and Eucharist. 

It is our goal to help each child grow academically and socially, while providing a supportive, engaging, and fun classroom environment! Our days and weeks will be filled with many wonderful experiences and opportunities for learning and growing.
