I am so excited to have you in my class this year. Fourth and Fifth grade are such special years. As a fourth grader, you will embark on an important journey where you’ll develop not only academically but also socially, emotionally, and in your faith. Fifth graders, you will continue to build on these foundations, reflecting on your growth from last year while setting new goals as you prepare for middle school. I hope that during your time in our classroom, you will develop a deep passion for reading and writing. I am so excited for the year ahead and to see all the incredible things you will accomplish!
I am thrilled about the opportunity to teach your children this year. Trinity Regional is such a wonderful community for young learners to grow and develop. I believe in constant and clear communication with parents and will be available via email and phone calls. I also utilize Google Classroom where I post reminders, a weekly homework document, and any other information that might be useful to students in each of the classes that I teach.
Academically, students will continue to grow as developing readers and writers. We will focus on enhancing their reading comprehension and fluency skills, and also practice writing skills by exploring various genres, writing tools, and strategies. Fourth grade students will prepare for the NYS ELA State Test in the spring, using learning strategies that will support their success. Fifth graders will build upon these strategies and engage with more complex texts. I am eager to provide various opportunities for diverse learners to flourish as confident readers and writers throughout the year!
