    • Religion Curriculum: RCL Benziger Blest Are We (Grade K-5)

All of RCL Benziger’s school resources are rooted in the rich and diverse tradition of the Catholic faith. Our school resources invite students to begin their journey of faith through an exploration of Scripture and Tradition, using researched-based educational strategies and age-appropriate techniques.

We support the efforts of Catholic schools in providing families energetic and engaging ways to explore and live out the Catholic faith. Cross-curriculum activities and inquiry-based learning encourage students to encounter Christ and become disciples in our digital age.

Students in grades K-5 receive daily instruction in Catholic theology and participate in daily prayer, monthly liturgies and seasonal para-liturgical experiences. Priests from our six parishes preside at all liturgies.

As a regional school, we prepare students for the reception of sacraments. As members of a parish family, each student receives his/her sacraments in their home parish.

The Gospel message of Jesus pervades all aspects of student life. Moral education is woven into daily lessons and activities, including skills of decision-making to aid the maturing child. An appreciation of self, others, and all life is instilled in our students.

Learning to read is an excursion into the unknown. It's about meeting challenges head-on and gaining confidence with each victory. Preparing students for this voyage requires a program that lets teachers introduce the right discoveries at the right time. When things begin to line up, you can see confidence start to shine in students' eyes. Journeys is a comprehensive K-5 English language arts program. It provides an instructional system for reading both literature and informational texts, for acquiring foundational skills, and for developing mastery of speaking, listening and writing.

    • Math: HMH Into Math (Grade K-5)

The key to learning mathematics is understanding the "why" behind the "how." HMH Into Math emphasizes the importance of establishing conceptual understanding and reinforces that understanding with procedural practice. The learning model asks students to first develop their reasoning before connecting their understanding to concepts and skills. HMH Into Math is more than just a solution, it’s a vision for student growth.
